Day 1 – An early morning departure from Wisconsin has you heading to Cleveland, Ohio for overnight lodging (pack an overnight bag); dinner is on your own this evening.
Day 2 – Enjoy breakfast, then check out and depart for a visit to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame & Museum where you will enjoy six floors of rock & roll history with exhibits of your favorite artists. Experience hands on, immersive exhibitions and view hundreds of artifacts. The Rock Hall is a tribute to the Music of our lives. After your visit, depart for Utica, NY where overnight lodging has been arranged for you (pack an overnight bag); dinner is on your own in the area.
Day 3 – Following breakfast, check out and continue traveling towards Maine. A stop will be made in Boston to visit Fanueil Hall where you can have lunch on your own and visit the shops. In mid-afternoon you will continue to South Portland where you will check into your hotel for a three- night stay. Dinner will be at a popular restaurant in the area this evening.
Day 4 – After breakfast, a guide will meet you to conduct a narrated sightseeing tour of Portland, including Portland Head Light and Victoria Mansion. You will view the boyhood home of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, the restored Old Port Exchange and have a breathtaking view of Casco Bay. In the afternoon you will sit back and relax on a local charter boat for a narrative cruise on Casco Bay through Calendar Islands and past Portland Head, Ram Island, Halfway Rock, Spring Point, and Bug Lighthouses. After the cruise, spend some time at the Perkins Cove area near your lodging. Dinner in the area, is followed by a free evening to enjoy the resort’s amenities.
Day 5 – Enjoy a complete breakfast before departing for your ride to the picturesque village of Boothbay Harbor. En route to Boothbay, you will visit Eartha, the revolving and rotating globe. You will also travel through the quaint towns of Brunswick, Bath, and Wiscassett. In Boothbay, you will meet your guide for a tour of the Boothbay area after which you will have free time to browse and shop along the picturesque waterfront which has retained the atmosphere of an old New England village. Boothbay Harbor features brick sidewalks lined with unique shops with handcrafted goods, maritime gifts, antiques and art galleries. Enjoy lunch on your own at one of the waterfront cafes, or just sit back and watch the harbor’s activities. Later, you will stop at L.L. Bean and the Factory Outlets for some bargain hunting. You will also visit the Nubble Lighthouse before returning to your lodging. Enjoy a lobster bake dinner this evening.
Day 6 – Following breakfast, check out and depart for a tour of Kennebunkport, which includes Walker’s Point, the Bush Family compound. The property has been a family retreat for more than a century. The estate was first purchased by St. Louis banker, George H. Walker in the late 19th century, who built the mansion in 1903. Kennebunkport has been a favorite among artists and writers and features numerous art galleries, craft shops, restored mansions and boutiques. After your tour, travel to Albany, NY for overnight lodging (pack an overnight bag). A lunch stop on your own will be made along the way. Dinner is on your own tonight.
Day 7 – Breakfast, then check out and travel to Lucille Ball’s hometown, Jamestown, NY, to visit the Lucy- Desi Museum for the ultimate / Love Lucy experience. Explore the lives, careers, and legacies of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz while immersing yourself in the ultimate fan experience with original costumes, props, awards, and exact re-creations of the TV studio sets. The Museum celebrates the careers and legacies of the “First Couple of Comedy,” and their incredible impact on the world. Afterwards, continue to Ashtabula, OH for overnight lodging (pack an overnight bag) and dinner on your own.
Day 8 – After breakfast, check out and depart for home with fond memories of your trip to Maine.
